Alcatel will release its very first Android phone, the OT-980, to sell for £99.95 on prepay.Featuring a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen display, the phone looks similar in design to the Palm Pre or BlackBerry Torch, although the handset is designed to be a far more affordable offering.
The OT-980 will ship with Android 2.1, but when What Mobile saw this phone at a recent event we were told that it should be possible to upgrade it to 2.2 in the future.
The phone will be available in October 2010 from The Carphone Warehouse for £99.95 on prepay.
