Acer reveal Android 4.0 NFC Liquid Glow phone

Acer has returned to the phone market with an unexpectedly high-spec phone – the Acer Liquid Glow.

Based around Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 3.7 inch screen, the phone retains the usual Acer style of plastic curves inherited from PC style design bods. Another surprise under the hood (and a feature present on many phones outed at Mobile World Congress this week) is NFC which means the Liquid Glow can use Android Beam to send images, music or video instantly.

On the back, there’s a 5 megapixel camera and thanks to Android 4.0, there’s a ‘open mic’ streaming voice recognition system, ready to go head to head with Apple’s Siri. Acer say the Liquid Glow is “the ultimate balance between style, performance and affordability ‘ ideal for today’s fun-seeking, social-networking youth” but a price hasn’t been confirmed as yet and – asked about a UK release date – Acer has confirmed ‘early summer’ which puts it behind the Xperia S…Check out the full specs below.
