Huawei’s latest handset is set for unveiling next month, but it seems someone couldn’t wait to test out that dual lens camera.
From the pictures provided by Steve Hemmerstoffer via Twitter; a Huawei “president” (or person high on the pyramid) is casually using the P9 weeks before launch. Benefits of being president of a massive tech company I suppose, it’s not been confirmed whether it’s actual Huawei president Ren Zhengfei.
We’ve already got a good idea on what to expect from the P9; we know it has a dual lens camera, it will be the same size as the P8 (5.2-inches) and have the same design with a full-metal body.
What we now know is all of the above is confirmed, but a lot of new features have also come to light. There will be a fingerprint sensor located conveniently on the back, which makes a lot of sense with the Nexus 6P sporting one, even Honor devices like the 5x has one.
LED flash is right next to the OO camera with a blank space below, seeming to be laser auto-focusing. Leaks have been mentioning it, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it up on that slideshow next month.
The rule of three
A massive talking point is that Huawei could be introducing three variants of the P9. The P9 Max will be a phablet with additional RAM and that QHD screen we wanted since the P9. The regular sized P9 will follow with a 5.2-inch screen, with the P9 Lite also potentially sporting the same size screen but with lower specs. Snapdragon 650, 2GB of RAM and a 1080p screen is what we’re expecting of the P9 Lite.
Huawei will unveil the P9 on April 6th in London, expect What Mobile there.
