Top powerbanks for Christmas

Powerbanks are everywhere, so we’ve rounded up four of the best ones we could find to help you get through the Christmas holidays. Each one caters to a specific user, so you should have plenty to choose from.

If you want something compact…

EnerPlex Jumpr Mini – 1,350mAh

8.9 x 5.4 x 0.5 cm – Available at Maplin for £19.99

The EnerPlex is the smallest of the four powerbanks and measures about the size of a credit card. At just 0.5 cm thick, it’s not much bulkier than your average smartphone and was easy to carry around in the pocket. At 1,350mAh it won’t juice up your phone to 100% but should be fine to use as an emergency lifeline when the battery starts running low. If you want something small that can be taken with you all the time, the EnerPlex takes some beating.

If you want a blend of power and portability…

Techlink REcharge – 2,600mAh

9.4 x 2.0 x 2.3 cm – Available at PC World for £13.99

A little bigger than the EnerPlex but almost as compact thanks to its tubular design, the RE Charge has almost enough power to juice an iPhone from 0-100%. The design helps it slip into the pocket without much fuss, while the visual indicator lights give a nice estimation of how much charge is left. Available in a variety of colours, this is a good option if you want a bit more power but still need some portability.

If you want plenty of power without the footprint…

Cheero Power Plus – 10,030mAh

9.5 x 6.2 x 2.2 cm – Available at Mobile Fun for £29.99

Stepping up from the RE Charge we have the Cheero Power Plus, which features a relatively unhappy chappy on the front. While it feels slightly thicker and bulkier than the RE Charge, you’re getting over three times the power here. Despite the thickness, it’s only slightly bigger than the EnerPlex, which is a good size for carrying around in your pocket (as long as they’re thick enough). While this isn’t the type of device you’ll be lugging in your jeans every day, you could throw it in a jacket pocket quite easily. A good option for heavy users that still require a bit of portability.

If you want a heavy-duty option…

Olixar Powercharge – 15,000mAh

14.2 x 6.1 x 2.1 cm – Available at Mobile Fun for £39.99

The Olixar Powercharge is the heavyweight of the group, coming in at a whopping 15,000mAh. That’s enough to charge an iPhone 7… seven and a half times. We know what you’re thinking and yes, it has a huge footprint that mimics a 5.5-inch handset. Still, if it’s power you’re after there’s no place to complain here as its cheap and cheerful. Most powerbanks in this category cost significantly more.
