Friday Lolz: Damn you autocorrect! Maybe Colao meant ‘technochics’?

Ah, autocorrect.

Those times you meant to write ‘haha’ and ended up recommending the Bahamas to your friend or when your mum wanted a cup of tea in the garden and instead sent ‘I’ll have a violate in the garden’.

I just…I don’t want to know, Mum.

Auto correct can be the bane of a text – there’s even a whole website dedicated to it – but what about autocorrect in real life? When you say something off the top of your head and only have the luxury later to think, maybe it would’ve been better to tap ‘x’ and not ‘enter’?

What Mobile’s sister news site Mobile News reported that Vodafone chief executive Vittorio Colao said most people wouldn’t notice the difference between LTE and high speed 3G.

He also elaborated by saying “I haven’t seen any figures but when I visited an EE store to see how fast it was all I saw was technofreaks in there”.

Ouch.

EE got in on the fun with a Twitter campaign – see our featured image.

But this is the problem with autocorrect. It’s sent before you can, well, correct it – maybe Colao meant technochics, the elusive members of an underground movement bringing both technology and fashion to the forefront of news, and his brain auto corrected?

Or maybe he just meant people who are really really in techno.

Whatever the story, we present for your Friday Lolz some of What Mobile’s top damn you autocorrect moments:

1)   Sibling interaction:

2)   A past story which described defiance of a court order as ‘fragrant’ (I guess it smelt like justice?)
