Microsoft unveils Xbox LIVE games for Windows Phone 7

Microsoft has unveiled the first wave of Xbox LIVE games to launch on the forthcoming Windows Phone 7 series platform.When the first devices begin shipping ahead of Christmas, Windows Phone 7 will offer the following Xbox LIVE features;

  • Avatars; using your Xbox LIVE profile and avatar.
  • Friends; bring your Xbox LIVE friends with you, comparing achievements, challenge rivals to a game or simply see who’s online and what they’re doing.
  • Game access; view and launch your game library from a single location, and find, try and buy new games in Marketplace or the Windows Phone 7 Games hub.
  • Achievements; earn, view and track your achievements, view leaderboards and build your Gamerscore across Xbox 360 and Windows Phone 7 every time you play an Xbox LIVE title.
  • Messaging; communicate with your friends through Xbox LIVE messages.
  • Multiplayer; invite, connect and play against friends on other Windows Phone 7 phones, or a PC with turn-based multiplayer gaming.

Windows Phone 7 will offer specially selected games from the top names in mobile, PC and console game development.
