Apple’s iPhone celebrated its 6th birthday last week but it never launched with an app store until a year later, and it seems Apple is extremely excited to celebrate the App Store’s 5th anniversary next week.
To celebrate, Apple has been sending out posters to members of the media which detail the milestones that the App Store has achieved in its 5-year tenure.
The company has even taken the chance to recognise many of the notable apps which launched on iOS first — apps such as Angry Birds and Temple Run.
Right at the top of the timeline is the current numbers that the App Store has achieved — with 900,000+ apps and 50 billion downloads.
It won’t be too long until Apple is celebrating hitting that 1 million mark.
