We know you’ll look like a bit of an idiot wearing them, but we can’t help but be impressed when we read about the ‘SolidOptex technology that offers the thinnest, lightest and most durable video eyewear available’.
Not that there hundreds of companies out there making video glasses, of course, but it’s certainly reassuring to know that these are somewhere up near the top in the league table should there be one.
The Myvu Crystal is compatible with loads of devices, from the Nokia N95 and N96, many portable media players, portable DVD players and some game consoles. In fact, with a VGA resolution (the highest in its class), there are probably loads more devices you can hook up. Now, with the optional cable, iPhone users can get in on the act.
The glasses promise the widest field-of-view, up to four hours battery life and the best audio quality, thanks to noise-cancelling earphones by Ultimate Ears. You can even get the glasses in black or amber, but we’re not sure either will suddenly make you look cool. Cue jokes about ‘Should have gone to Specsavers’, although of course we would never dream of saying such a thing.
The £200 (excluding iPhone cable) glasses are available through selected O2 stores in the UK.
