British security authority Brisant Secure is pleased to announce that its robust smart door lock, the Ultion SMART, is now listed on Samsung’s home automation platform, SmartThings.

This is the latest piece of functionality to be added to Ultion SMART, which already boasts voice activation with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit, Bluetooth access via the Danalock app, wireless keypad PIN access, geo-unlocking and traditional key compatibility.

Speaking of the partnership, Brisant Secure’s CEO Nick Dutton said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with a global leader like Samsung to build out SmartThings’ existing offering. Smart home tech is truly addictive. Someone purchases a SmartThings hub or an Alexa and then they start buying other products to bolt-on. For the people that see the benefit in controlling their heating from their phone, plus the ability to answer the doorbell from anywhere in the world, why would they not want control of their door lock? At Brisant Secure, we offer the easiest and most secure solution on the market, backed by BSI, Sold Secure and Secured By Design.”

Originally developed in 2012, the SmartThings app allows users to connect, automate and manage all their compatible appliances and electronics from one convenient place. Currently, the app can link to 35 different types of devices and appliances, covering everything from lighting and energy to homeware and entertainment.

Now keen to bolster its UK security offering, Samsung has partnered with leading security firms developing the likes of smart cameras, motion sensors, doorbells and door locks.

The Ultion SMART Bluetooth model is available to purchase for £229, whilst the Zigbee/Z-Wave model costs £259 and the Apple HomeKit version is £259. Available to purchase from www.ultion-lock.co.uk/ultion-smart
